Not a teacher, but can I ask a quick question?
Thank you for allowing me to intrude on your board for a moment.
My daughter's teacher this year has been amazing so far. My DD is not a naturally confident kid, and she can be cautious to a fault. This teacher has managed - where many others have tried and failed - to draw DD out of her shell. As a result, DD is so much more confident and is now willing to try more challenging things without her usual fear of failing or embarrassing herself. I cant even begin to put into words how this has opened up so many doors for my child. It makes me so happy to see how much she has advanced in just a short time.
So, my question to you all is: What can I do besides simply telling her how fabulous she is? Is there someone I can write to (after I compose my thoughts into a more eloquent jumble of words than I've spewed here lol).
What would make you feel like, "wow. I really made a difference! This is what its all about!" And what would get this teacher the most worthwhile recognition?
Thank you for any and all suggestions! Oh, it's a long island district if that makes any difference in what you think i should do.

I think writing the teacher a card would really make her feel good..I've gotten letters where parents have said that and I felt really good..you could also write to the principal and maybe cc the superintendent? I am so glad that your daughter is having that experience!

Definitely do this. I'm a teacher and you have no idea what getting a note or letter like that means.
