All these terms and kits and sticks and stuff!!! AAAHHHHH, did anyone just do it naturally?
I get trying to figure out when you're ovulating, but is anyone just TTC without facts, figures and all this other stuff?
I feel like it's so complicated.

I keep going back and forth on that. I haven't gotten anything yet and not doing much...I take my temp. every morning, I don't know why since I don't really do much with it but anyway, I still take it and then I take PN but outside of that some days I'm like we want to go at it naturally and others I want to run out and get all the kits in the world. DH really really wants to do it naturally, he got really spooked when I use a fertility calculator online yesterday that allowed us to pick a delivery date and calculated when we should be trying to conceive. I vote for natural though. I guess 'cos I'm not really that organized.

I know charting, etc. has helped many ladies, but it made me a little nuts. I got my BFP after I took a month's hiatus from charting and OPKs (but I had a pretty regular schedule and knew that we were BDing at a good time).
ETA: One of my friends got pg both times by BDing every other day around the week she was o'ing. And one of the other ladies (I think Goldi?) was told by her doc to BD every other day starting on Day 10.

Ive said this before and Ill say it again. I refuse to make this process any more scientific than I have to when I first start. I'd go buck nutty. If after a certain amount of time trying we dont get pregnant, then we explore other options.

I totally agree with you Leslie. I was temping at first but it just wasn't working for me. I do use OPKs, but feel at times like you said it ha all become so scientific. I know some peope that use 3 OPK sticks each day. I would go insane, but respect everyone's option to do whatever they feel comfortable doing. It would be nice if nature just took its course on all of us. Here is to all of us...baby dust to all of you!

Right now Dh and I are BD'ing alot around the time I think I am ovulating. I am pretty regular and also went onto Fertility Friend and go around the dates I got from there (which I think are really pretty accurate bc I was crampy and had EWCM around that time also)
We will (If need be) start temping and using OPKs. We just aren't doing that right now.

It is so very confusing and very stressful. When I was PG and now trying again, I only did an on-line calendar (which I found to be very accurate) and the OPK sticks when I thought I was ovulating (according to the calendar and 9-14 days after the first day of my last period). I got PG my first month of trying

My mother and sister never had a problem conceiving. My mom told me she did mental math, when it came to her cycle and then BD'd with my father (ew). Sometimes I think we all think too much and put unnecessary pressure on ourselves.

If we have any issues we'll consider the temping and other stuff..right now we are just going at it

I was one who choose the kits etc route. Mainly because we wanted to get PG right away. Unfortunatly it didnt happen even with all the planning.
I think I would do at least 6 months with nothing so you dont feel it being so technical or anything ya know?
No harm in that. Everyone has to choose the way that makes them happy.

We are going to try naturally and our personal "cut off" for that method is 4 months. Then we will look into the OPKs and stuff.

IMO I don't see the big deal with using OPK's. You just pee on a stick and look for a line. It's not that scientific. I was the same way as you all we got PG on the 1st try. then I m/c and now we've been trying for 9 months. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I would never want to just take it naturally and not get PG and wonder if there is something I could have done. JMO

we just did it (sorry for the pun...) I took a guesstimate on when I would ovulate by counting the # of days in my cycle and that was as technical as I got

Wanted to add that while we are trying right now without any of that stuff if (knock on wood) we were not successful in getting PG after a certain point I would 100% be doing anything and everything to help us get there.

I'm all about finding the most optimal time which is why I chart. I also find it freakin' cool because I never knew any of the stuff that I learned in TCOYF...so it's like a fun exciting science experiment for us. DH gets all into it and asks where my temps are, if I've seen a line on the OPK. It's brought us closer in a weird way. Plus I have all this info if god forbid, we do not conceive on our own. I can bring in all my charts for my OB/GYN to review and go from there. I don't think it takes all that long to take a temp in the morning (2 minutes max) and pee on a stick (less than 30 seconds). To each their own :)

I came off the pill and just tracked my cycles to have an idea when AF came not for anything else.
DH and I just let nature happen. I had the "brilliant" idea one day that animals know when to do it, so we probably do to and if we BD'd when the mood hit us, it was probably right.
I am convinced that humans come up with excuses for not doing it when we really want to like having to go to work or not feeling "pretty". If we would listen to our bodies and BD when the hormones are telliing us, most of us would get pg.
DH and I did for fun the weekend we conceived.
