Microchip Service
When we adopted our dog they gave us paperwork to register her microchip with Home Again. Are they the only service out there for this? There's an annual fee of $17.99 or something like that and I just want to make sure I'm registering her chip with the right company.

There's a lot of different services. We use Home Again because that's the one our vet had told us about. Fortunately, I've never needed to contact them for anything.

We don't do the annual fee. Home Again keeps your info on file so if the chip is scanned you will be contacted even without the membership. You register it once, the first year they usually give you free, but I didn't see any benefits to keeping the membership. Sure, they send out a "lost animal" bulletin to their email lists, vets, shelters, but with social networking and a phone book it's nothing I can't do myself for $18 a year (x3)

we just paid the fee for the chip in, not a yearly fee.

Sandy is chipped with Avid. She came with it & I've never had to pay a yearly fee.

I just got one put in my puppy for $15 at petco. That was a one time cost, no month or yearly fee.

Avid for me. One time fee. If you want to change the paperwork they charge you $6.
We have our in laws as well as ourselves on the paperwork.
