Oh Paleo, how I've missed you...
The majority of last year I was on a Paleo diet. I was the happiest I've ever been with my weight (around 140, but strong and healthy). It would barely fluctuate no matter what Paleo foods I ate or how much. I didn't count calories, I just ate till I was satisfied.
Fast forward to the holidays. There were so many parties and treats and I allowed myself to cheat "just for the holidays". Well the holidays became 4-5 months and 20lbs.
I've been miserable. I was worried about not getting enough whole grains, and what a high (healthy) fat diet would do to my body. So I tried just eating "normal". No matter how much or how little I ate. How much or how little I exercised, nothing would make the scale budge lower than 157.
Finally, I had enough. Yesterday I decided to recommit myself to a Paleo lifestyle. I ditched the calorie counter and went back to the Paleo foods that I had in the house.
Instantly, I've felt a difference in my body. I feel energized, happy, and I just weighed myself and I lost nearly 4lbs in ONE DAY.
I know my body responds incredibly well to Paleo and I don't know why I didn't do this sooner.
I'd love to get back down to 140 and I will certainly keep you all informed of my progress!

Very cool ! I think some people definitely do better with out grains and vice versa. My bottom line is that any diet that focuses only on calorie counting vs. eating real/ nutrient dense food is not sustainable.

Re: Oh Paleo, how I've missed you...
I would LOVE to get a short low down on paleo. I have been watching what I eat for the past few weeks, working out about 4 days a week and NOTHing!!!
I am desperate to lose weight - 10 lbs would be awesome for me.
I am vegetarian but not vegan.
Is there a website that I can go to for quick hints and recipes or does anyone who does paleo want to give me a quick run down on their daily meals? i would be eternally grateful and will post my progress here.
Thanks

Vegetarian paleo is a little more restrictive but it's completely possible. It's how I live.
