Pre and Post workout snack?
I never know what to eat post workout.
I started t25 yesterday and will be doing it everyday around 4pm.
I eat lunch at 1130 and then I will usually have a snack 9th period or right after school (2-230).
Should I have a carb snack like a banana before? And then a protein snack after?

Re: Pre and Post workout snack?
I believe it's the other way around: protein is pre-workout and (good) carb is post.

This is what I do also. The only time I do protein before is I am eating breakfast and I won't go to the gym for an hour to hour and half. Otherwise I have a some sort of green drink I make and then peanut butter with apple and rice cake or peanut butter and banana or if I am on the road, a protein box from starbucks. I try and not to eat the whole box because it is 400 calories i think.

Re: Pre and Post workout snack?
A great pre workout snack if the workout is cardio based is a piece of fruit or something like a rice cake with PB. If you are just doing cardio, protein afterwards will suffice but if you are doing a strength workout, your muscles actually need the protein AND carbohydrates to repair.

Re: Pre and Post workout snack?
I see a nutritionist and for me (I weigh 120 pounds), I do the following before big workouts:
Pre-workout: 60g carb with some protein (~10g) so usually a banana with peanut butter.
Post-workout: 60g carb and 20g protein. Usually a protein shake and a few pieces of bread.
Protein is necessary for muscle replenishment after a long workout but less so after a shorter workout..
