So any news on the appeal? What are you doing this cycle?

Anyone appeal an ins decision?
I spoke with the main billing office yesterday and she said that she did leave a message to have a dr call Oxford for a peer to peer review when she got the denial, and she would leave another message.
This month we are CD21 of an unmedicated TI cycle bc of cysts. But we are hoping to do an IVF cycle next month.

Anyone appeal an ins decision?
Insurance appeals have very strict deadlines so read your denial letter carefully to make sure you make the deadline. Advise your doctor immediately of the problem and that you are going to appeal. If the insurance company won't pay, your doctor will expect you to pay so advising them that you are appealing is important for 2 main reasons - 1) so that they help you with the appeal - they likely have a billing department well versed in such fights who can either do much of the work or counsel you how to do it; and 2) to buy time to have the bill paid - as said earlier there is a deadline for an appeal and then there will be a deadline or approximate timeline for them to review and respond. If your dr is advised of the appeal, they should hold off on trying to collect from you - best to put in writing for this reason so that you can send them a copy if they try to do follow up bills. You don't want it to go on your credit report. Good luck!!
