Salon near holbrook?
Need a haircut really bad and I'm thinking about color too...would probably do an ombré which I've had before. Any suggestions? The cactus salon in holbrook is right near me, is it any good?

I have never used them, but with any salon, it's all about the person you get.
If you are looking to do Ombre I'd be very careful because Ombre can end up looking very bad if it's not done right.
I have learned my lesson with color. After years of having my hair destroyed by a stylist who was NOT a colorist, I have come to realize that you should always make sure you are using a colorist who specifically trained on color. Some of them don't even do haircuts, etc- just the color and they pass you to someone else for your cut and style.
There is a salon in Sayville, Vanity Square, I think, that used to have a great colorist.
Not sure if she is still there- her name was Lisa.

I go to Lisa from Vanity Square in Sayville, she is great, I have been going to her for years. Like NervousNell said, she only does color, she is there Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. If you are also looking for a great cut, I highly recommend Donna who works there. She has been there for a while as well and I think she is there on Thursdays and Saturdays. I usually make an appointment with both of them when I go. The number is 631-244-0933.
