Too SoonTo Trigger?!?

In the midst of a Micro IVF cycle... Today is CD10- 5 days Clomid, 3 days Bravelle 75units. A full micro cycle they will give you up to 5 days Bravelle @ 75units.

Today's Bloodwork- estrogen-750, LH- 2.5

3 dominant follicles- 18,16,13. A couple that are 10 or smaller. Lining- 6.5

Nurse just called and said to trigger tonight @ 10. I cried, then begged her to call my doctor at home (the doctor reviewing today wasn't mine.) She did, and called me back and said my doctor concurred. I asked them to have her call me, but a nurse called me back instead and said "They're the experts so... The follicles can still grow and the lining could get thicker. Good luck"

I think it's too early! I know a micro will get less follicles, but shouldn't they still grow? And isn't the lining too thin?

Now I'm freaking out and I feel like I want to just call and say NO- I'm not doing it! Give it one more day! I'm seriously panicking bc I just think I'm not ready.

What do you guys think?

I have no idea how they figure out when to trigger. I just triggered when they told me to.

If both doctors agree that you should do it tonight, I'd probably go with their recommendation. They may be concerned that the larger follies will be past their prime if you wait to long.

Good luck!

I think I just don't see anyone else really doing the Micro (we are OOP and it's the only way we can afford it) and I know it's not the same, but I can't help comparing to what others on here do. And it seems like on here docs want 18-20. Last cycle, out of 3 that they thought were mature, only 2 actually were, so maybe I'm being overly sensitive. Thanks!

Too Soon?!?

I would trust the doctors. They really do want you to get pregnant - that is their ultimate goal. The trigger usually matures a few more. I can understand your concern though based on what other doctors usually want to see. I think mine liked them between 18-20. They never told me the exact measurements though at my new clinic and I just trusted they knew what they were doing.

I hope it works for you this time!

You might get more responses from some of the ladies that are more knowledgeable about the technical aspects if you edit the subject line to clarify that you're asking if it's too soon to trigger. Until I opened the thread, I assumed you were asking if it was too soon to POAS.

Too SoonTo Trigger?!?

This is only my first cycle, so I really don't have any idea for you. But I imagine the doctors know what they are doing and we get way more information off the Internet then is good for us. I would go with their recommendation, they do this every day.

Trigger tonight. Egg retrieval would be Thursday. Giving you approximately four follicles. Trust your doctor.

Thanks everyone. I still have my doubts but it's too late now. I'll find out tomorrow at retrieval.. Trying to work on not bursting into tears at everything in the meantime!

I don't know too much about a micro cycle, but I assume you're not using Ganirelix? That would prevent you from Oing on your own. But if you're not using it, and assuming you're getting ready to surge on your own, then that's why they are having you trigger now. So that you don't lose the follies that you have!

Remember, it's not just about your follie size. They are also watching your hormone levels and when they get to a certain point, the REs know it's time to trigger. Trust your drs, as the other women have said.

Too SoonTo Trigger?!?

So I'm assuming you triggered based on what you wrote. How did the retrieval go?

I did. It went well. They got the 3 they were hoping to get so we'll know tomorrow if they were mature enough to fertilize which was a problem last time. Thanks for asking!
