Does anyone own a Vitamix?
I was thinking of getting one for Fathers Day for DH. There appears to be a bunch of different models ranging in price. Does anyone have any reccommendations or at least know the difference between them? Please dont tell me I have to pay $550 for this thing. DH really wants one.
Thanks!

Obsessed with mine. I have a 5200 from Costco and it came with a free dry grinder too.

Thanks, I saw that.
I'm looking for the difference between the difference models, and if anyone has any recommendations. (Price ranges from $280 to over $500).
Thanks.

Thats the one he saw & fell in love with. At Costco, I believe it was around $399, correct? I dont even think they sell that anymore because it was during a roadshow.

Re: Does anyone own a Vitamix?
I got mine at bed bath and beyond. I was told the variable speed option is a must. They took the 20% off coupon for it! (saved me $100!!!)

When I bought mine, I was debating between the 5200 and the 6300. I ended up getting the 6300. The only difference between these two models is 6300 has the variable speeds and 5200 doesn't. Vitamix has 7 year warranty..even the refurbished ones have seven yr warranty.
Check qvc, costco, and BBB. Bbb coupons may say vitamix is excluded but I heard from several people that they do honor the coupon. I believe several costco locations in queens and long island have demos in May. I bought the 6300 for $499 plus tax when they had a demo which I believe is normally little bit more expensive. If you don't mind a refurbished model to keep the cost down, I heard they are great too.
I have couple of frenemies that keep saying they would never buy a vitamix because its just a blender. For me it's totally worth it. America's test kitchen did a review on blenders and vitamix got the highest ratings. I believe one of the breville blenders was also rated high and that's couple hundred dollars less than the vitamix.

I think the difference is that the. 6300 has presets and a pulse switch.
And it is soooo much better than a blender. I love it!!!

My co worker has one. You can get a reman. one for less. I think about $100 less, then if you look online you can get a free shipping coupon code. he says his came with a 5 year warranty, but there is a fee to purchase one for longer then 5 years.
Here is the link: https://secure.vitamix.com/Certified-Reconditioned-Standard-Programs.aspx
Free shipping code: 06-004229.
