Re: No heartbeat
I am so sorry for your loss.
I have had a D&C and have miscarried naturally. D&C is so much easier....just gets it over with quicker. Miscarrying naturally can last for days and is incredibly painful.
For what it's worth, after my D&C I got pregnant right away. My dr says it doesn't affect fertility.

Re: No heartbeat
I'm so so sorry. How far along are you? I've done a D&C when i was 8 weeks and also have done a home medicine induction when i had a blighted ovum. If you'd rather have it over with quickly, I'd go with a D&C at a hospital -- with anesthesia. The other ways prolong it. It is very emotional and devastating either way. Make sure you get good pain meds.

Re: No heartbeat
First of all I just want to thank each and every one of you for all of the support. You have no idea how much it means to me and for you all to have shared your stories it definitely gives me hope.
I went ahead and scheduled the D&C. I would have been 8 weeks on Friday but I think the embryo stopped growing around 6w1d. I'm having another scan tomorrow to confirm. I got some of my bloodwork back and my HCG and progesterone went up from last week so I think my body is just not getting the memo. I'm still REALLY low for where I should be though so there really doesn't look like there's any hope that this could be a viable pregnancy. I really don't want to drag this process out and I would like to get testing done so we can maybe find out what the problem is/was, especially since we were diagnosed as "unexplained". I truly hope I can come back on this board soon, but I wish all you ladies the best and thank you all sincerely from the bottom of my heart.
