Where can I buy a savings bond?

I think you have to do it online now. Banks used to be able to do it for you but I don't think they do anymore. I think you need the baby's social security number

you can only buy online now.
also have to pay face value of them.
so if you want a 50 dollar bond you have to pay 50 dollars -not 25.

As a financial investment, they are not worth it. They are also a PITA to get.
