Re: Pet insurance
I have VPI and love it. When Shamrock had to go in the hospital in 2012 for 3 1/2 days it paid for just about everything except the food they gave him. If we didnt have it it would have cost a small fortune. I will never give it up.

Thanks!! I'm looking into that today. Do you have to make a monthly payment, or are you reimbursed???

Re: Pet insurance
I have Banfield Pet Insurance, its through PetSmart and you just bring them to the vet there. Its been really great so far, you dont have to pay anything out of pocket ahead of time and then get reimbursed...its all covered at the time you go.

I make monthly payments. When he goes to the vet I pay the bill and I have them fill out a form. I fax it along with the bill. Check out their pay schedule before you sign up. They only pay once a year for vacinations.

Love it because a portion of the premium goes back to helping other animals

Re: Pet insurance
VPI We love it. Our one cat has a lot of urinary issues and it really does pay us back quite a bit of the bills.

Re: Pet insurance
You may want to try Embrace Pet Insurance - they have wellness plans for well visits & vaccines and also cover emergencies at any vet hospital http://www.embracepetinsurance.com/
another good one is Pet Plan insurance, and many people are happy with VPI as well. . - Elizabeth

What plan does everyone have?
We have Trupanion. You pay your monthly amount and once you meet your deductible. they will cover 90% of out of pocket expenses. There is a per incident deductible, which some people don't like, but because I only have this coverage for accidents/emergencies (which I'm hoping to not have to use), I don't mind. Although there is a per-incident deductible, there is no annual limit, which I especially like because if you have a bad/unlucky year with your pet and have multiple emergencies, you'll still get paid out 90% each time once your deductible is met. Good luck!
