Medical Bill
I made an appointment for my DH to see a general practitioner. The doctor was in our network. He went to the appointment and was seen by the PA.
I received a bill from the doctor's office for the visit as they submitted the claim to insurance under the PA's name, not the doctor. The PA is not listed in the network.
I would never have sent him there if I thought this would be an issue. I've been seen by PA's before, (not the same doctor's office) but they billed under the doctor's name to insurance. Do I have any recourse, or are we stuck with a $250 bill? So annoyed!

Re: Medical Bill
Call the office and have them re-bill it under the doctor. It shouldn't be a problem.

Medical Bill
I had a similar situation with a radiologist. I did keep fighting it with my insurance company because I did not "choose" this OON doctor. They sent me to a place and I wasn't given a choice nor was I told ahead of time. The ins. company paid for it after a month. You have to keep contending that you a) wouldnt see the PA if you were informed he was OON, and b) you weren't informed he was OON
Good Luck!

Re: Medical Bill
I've had an issue like this before. I learned to ask if each individual doctor or PA accepted my insurance.
