who is BBQing today?
And whatcha making?
We are having about 12 people over. I'm making
veggies and hummus chips and salsa mango guac and regular guac
burgers hot dogs polish sausage chicken legs
potato salad cole slaw cucumber salad
gluten free choco chip cookies (these are break and bake) blackberry crumb cake rhubarb cream cheese hand pies watermelon
and I am making ginger-mint lemonade.
Most of it is already done - just need to to mix the slaw and cucumbers with their respective dressings, and put the hand pies together.

who is BBQing today?
It's not really a recipe per se - put equal parts sugar and water in a small pot (I think I did around 1 1/3 c each) add in some chunks of ginger and mint sprigs. bring to a simmer until the sugar dissolves, then let cool with the ginger and mint in there. i smushed the ginger and mint against the grains of the sugar before it dissolved so get more flavor. when it's cool, put through a fine strainer, and press on the remnants to get all the flavor out.
Add around 1/2 c of lemon juice to pitcher, add in simple syrup, and fill with water. Adjust lemon/sugar levels to taste. (I did it that people put it over ice when they poured it so it didn't get diluted as it sat).

We BBQ-ed yesterday but it was just the two of us (and a toddler) so we kept the menu small!
We made:
-Veggie Platter w/Dip -Fruit Platter -Pizza Bites
-Hamburgers (specifically Taco burgers-- doritos, red hot, cumin, garlic, black pepper, cayenne, chili powder, and topped with cheese, avocado and salsa) -Chicken Wings (using the buffalo wild wing sauces)
-Kale Chips
-Lemon Meringue Pie -S'mores -Raspberry-Yogurt Ice Pops
Going to another BBQ today.

We had a family party yesterday so we're BBQing today.
We live in an apartment but have the indoor/outdoor George Foreman, so I guess it still counts as BBQing
Our neighbors may be stopping by so we have a few appetizer foods like mozzarella sticks, cheese platter, pizza bites and a veggie platter.
We're making hot dogs, frigadellas (which are like inside out hamburgers) and chicken/pepper kabobs with fries. We just got back from St. Lucia a few weeks ago so we're also going to try and make our own take on the rum punch we got there!

we had family over and kept it really simple because I didn't want a ton of leftovers. Spinach dip and a veggie platter for apps, hotdogs, hamburgers, marinated chicken on the grill, homemade pasta salad, potato salad and a chocolate cake trifle for dessert.
