Quick question
When you hire a contractor to do renovations in your home..who gets the permits? And who pays for the permits?
Thanks in advance!

Quick question
I don't think there is a one size fits all answer. I think it will depend on the agreement you have with the contractor, but I could be wrong. My mom had work done on her house a couple of times and once she had to get the permits and other times the company she used got the permits. She always had to pay for them.

Quick question
Depends on the contractor. We are just now using Lowe's for our Kitchen reno and they obtained the permits, however other companies we spoke with would have made us get the permits (and some even suggested doing the work without them).

Quick question
I should probably call the town, which I will do, but does someone know on the top of your head if I need a permit, it is LI I am sure i do , to remove a kitchen door (small side entrance door located in the kitchen - rip off the frame, nail plywood or so on external side, styrofoam, siding and finish the job inside). Thank you in advance for your answers, I appreciate it.
