If you did your roof yourself...
I run a local moms group and there is a local family that needs a new roof....SO bad. It's a very bad situation. I have contacted some contractors who may be willing to do the work but of course I need to find a way to get/pay for the materials. I know getting a new roof is very expensive but I'm guessing that most of the expense is the labor, correct? Does anyone have a dh/so that did your roof on his own? I'm asking but I'm just curious as to around how much the materials will be. They need it completely taken off, new plywood as well.

If you did your roof yourself...
DH did ours a few years ago and said it was about $2500 but that didn't include new plywood. We have a fairly small cape so we have a pretty simple roof.

Organize a big bake sale, yard sale, etc. I made $800 at a bake sale outside Waldbaums years ago.
