Kasha Academy- feedback
Sorry if I posted this already. My computer is being annoying... Any feedback for Kasha Academy in West Sayville? I think this is where I want to send my daughter, but would love to hear from other parents who have had experience/heard anything about it. Thanks!

Re: Kasha Academy- feedback
DO NOT send your children here! These teachers are NOT certified. We are teachers with over 15 years experience and are disgusted. My son was sent out into a crowded room at dismissal to the sitter with his pants soaking wet. She was told he had an "accident", then the teacher walked away. Who dismisses a four year old child forced to walk funny cause he had an accident into a crowded room full of parents and kids???!!! And the sitter has our two year old with her as well. She was wrong on so many levels. And no phone call. We had to call several times to speak with someone--the director who fielded the calls in place of the teacher. She did not say she would have teacher call us, nor did she even once say anything remotely apologetic. Very poor communication. Would especially steer clear if you are a working parent and need excellent communication and notifications. Miss Amy has serious judgement and experience flaws, like when she told us that she assumed that our son might be more comfortable getting changed at home. So you send a 4 year old to walk home or sit in a car seat soaking wet?? And the teacher never calls back. Miss Amy seems to filter communication. NONE of this would fly in a quality program. They also DO NOT do parent conferences or meetings because "we have other things to do after school." Serious!!! The program is mediocre at best--if you are looking for really high quality run by certified professionals--look elsewhere. We LOVE Creations and I have heard good things about the United Church Coop School and also the Lutheran school and On Our Own... Lots of great options!

Re: Kasha Academy- feedback
I know a family who is very happy there but I looked at this program when they were at the Greek Church in Blue Point a few yrs ago. Neither DS nor I liked the program - weird for a 3yo to say it wasn't the right fit for him but he didn't like any of the teachers on the tour! For me, I didn't like that the director spoke with poor English (said li-berry instead of library, for ex) and she said she rewarded the students with small toys everyday. When I asked if the kids would get a toy everyday she said she found that "bribing preschoolers can really help out". I'm not sure what context she meant that with but it made me feel uncomfortable. I also don't like the new location, I see parents struggling at pickup and drop off. I have two younger DCs so that's very important to me

I did ask if the teachers were certified and her response was, "No, we are just moms." I found that odd. I would prefer certified, especially with the changing demands of NYS and introduction to Common Core Curriculum. She didn't mention the toy thing, but I am not one for bribing every day either! Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Kasha Academy- feedback
My child attended kasha for the 3 year old program and preK my child was so loved and the teachers go above and beyond. The teachers really show that they love what they do. My child came out of kasha writing, creating his own art projects and he even started reading. My child was so prepared for kindergarten. Sending my child to kasha was one of the best decisions, I looked at multiple preschools in the area and speak in great depth with the director and decided kasha academy would be the best option for my family.

Re: Kasha Academy- feedback
Kasha Academy is a GREAT school with GREAT teachers ~ My son Loved Kasha & he is completing Kindergarten and still talks about and misses his Kasha's teachers~ he always compares his new music teacher to Mr Jerry! I know I put my son in great hands here ~ My son had terrible separation issues being away from me and he was crying when I left him ~ Miss Amy would call/text me with pictures letting me know my little guy was doing great. How many schools would do that? Not many! He went for the 3 year old program and Pre-K.
They really care about the children at Kasha and make it fun while learning ~ My son is just completed Kinder and he did amazing and he was more than Kindergarten ready.
My son wishes he could go back to Kasha! (and so do I)

Re: Kasha Academy- feedback
This is the most amazing preschool! i a mom of three, 14, 12 and 2. The preschool I sent my older children to is no longer there, it was a wonderful experience and I thought nothing would compare. I was wrong! Kasha academy had everything to offer and more! The director and teachers are compassionate, loving and a gift to all their students! They see each child as a blessing! They teach the children to love themselves and others. To be confident and compassionate! They encourage the children to explore the world around them, to challenge themselves and to love learning! They are patient, believe in positive reinforcement and endless hugs! If you are looking for your child to be loved, love learning, to giggle, to have fun and to BE A CHILD, this is the school for them! My daughter wants to go to school everyday! She loves her teachers who are always waiting to great her with a warm hug and smile! We have even run into them when they are with their own families in town and yet they stop what they are doing to talk to my daughter and make her feel special. And yes, my child has learned her ABC,s, numbers, colors, shapes, to write, etc! Communication is fabulous! We ALWAYS know what's going on at school, they often text me pictures during the day I of her in action or to tell of something special that she said or did! I love Kasha and I'm so thankful for all they do!

Yea this thread made me think Kasha is disreputable, because it looks to me like the owner got on here under three different names. If you notice that these posters have never posted about anything but preschools!

Ding Ding.
I would not trust anything said about Kasha EXCEPT from a poster who has been around a while...especially since the owner is either making up names or having people post.

Re: Kasha Academy- feedback
Bad experience when son attended. Owner also accosted me in the public library when I was with my infant and young daughter three years after we attended. Said how dare I post a negative review about her schools. Ask about years experience, certification, and education levels of staff before attending. I politely walked away and had to explain to my daughter why that woman was yelling at her mommy and was so angry. Very unprofessional. And she runs a PRESCHOOL?
