Di-vi-sol vs. Tri-vi-sol
I am EBF and my pediatrician would like me to give DS either di-vi-sol or tri-vi-sol. He has been using Di-Vi-Sol for the past two weeks because we had a free sample from their office.
I am getting ready to replace, and am weighing pros and cons of both. Obviously the Tri-Vi-Sol has more vitamins in it, but other than that, do you have advice re pros and cons of both?

Di-vi-sol vs. Tri-vi-sol
Most important for a breastfed baby is vitamin d as a supplement. The tri has iron, which they don't need extra. I would stick with the di until they are older.
Ask your pedi though

I don't think the tri has iron, I think the poly has iron. I think the tri just has vitamins a, c, & d. I used the tri (I wondered the same thing you are but just went with it for the extra vitamins). I bought the poly once but the iron gives it such a strong smell that ds wouldn't take it.. I asked the dr & he said he didn't need the extra iron anyway so I never bought it again.

Yep, was thinking of the poly. And it smells horrible. Dd won't take it. I had to drop it in her bottle.

The ped recommended either, but said no to the poly (b/c of iron)

Re: Di-vi-sol vs. Tri-vi-sol
Our doctor told us either is fine. From what I understand the additional vitamins in the tri-vi-sol aren't actually neccessary so they just get passed in their urine anyways. I got the di-vi-sol since the vitamin d was all that the doctor said she needed.

It tastes terrible too! I accidentally got that one instead of the Di-vi-sol and gave it to DD. A little dripped onto my finger so I licked it and gagged. It tasted like bitter cardboard. Blechhh

Re: Di-vi-sol vs. Tri-vi-sol
I give DS just vitamin D-the Carlson's brand that's literally 1 small drop in his mouth per day. Breastmilk has all the vitamins your LO needs, aside from the vitamin D (as long as you're eating healthy or taking a vitamin). I don't always remember to give him the vitamin D, but now that it's summer, we'll be out more often and he'll get it naturally from the sun, too.

Di-vi-sol vs. Tri-vi-sol
My ped recommended the Tri-vi-sol. DS gags every time, so i haven't given it regularly. They never told me to give it to my first DS. so i'm not overly concerned.
