What do you think? Long
This is for my friend who also suffers from IF..
I don't know how to guide her and don't want to give false hope so what say you?
Her periods are not exactly regular. She says about 80% of the time they come every 35-40 days but the other 20% they come every 40 days +...shes skipped up to 6 months in the past.
Anyway according to her "normal" cycle her AF was due the last week in May. She thought it came pretty much on time but she said it was short..usually it lasts 7 days this time it only lasted 4. She thought it was a little weird but dismissed it except that shortly after her "period" finished, she started spotting. Not enough to fill a liner just spotting when she wiped.
It happened for a few days and she decided to test last week and surprise she got a BFP. She went to the dr. and he did a sono. He told her no thickening of the lining..he said her lining was uniformed but he thought he saw a spot on her uterus although it was not a sac. He is also my OB/GYN and I know he is excellent with reading sonos. He did BW and her HCG came back at 250.
That HCG is obviously too low to be a pregnancy from last month which would put her around 6 weeks at the time.
She said she was away the week of her AF which was the last week in May and didn't come back until the first day in June. She DTD the day she came back which if she did get pregnant then would have only put her at 10DPO when beta was done. That seems like a high beta for 10DPO but that's the only thing she can think of that may possibly make this viable.
FTR she has charted in the past and never ovulated that early..always 14 days before AF arrived.
Of course she's trying to hang onto any hope and I don't know how to guide her. Part of me thinks weirder things have happened but going through so many losses I know the heartbreak and don't want to give her false hope. She says she has sore boobs but she's still spotting. The DR. didn't give her much hope. She has to go back this week for more testing. Is there any chance this is viable?

doesn't sound viable. My first chemical my hcg slowly rose and at 6 weeks was around 200-300. A 10 dpo beta of 250 would be insane. Sorry for your friend :(

I agree w/ the others. It doesn't sound viable.
If she's not seeing an RE, I think she would benefit from seeing one. This way she could be more closely monitored.
