gender reveal
Is anyone having a gender party? or doing the cake thing? or just finding out at the drs office?

The U/S tech wrote it on the sono picture and put it in an envelope for DH and I to open together since he couldn't make it to the ultrasound that day.

The sono tech slipped and told me, so I picked up an outfit for DH since he couldn't be there

We found out at the anatomy scan, no gender reveal or anything and called our families in the parking lot of the hospital to let them know.
We then did a picture with blue balloons and a sign with our dog to announce on Facebook and to friends.

DS1 we just found out at sono. For this baby we did a gender reveal on Saturday. Invited people for a BBQ, then brought out cupcakes and told them they were at a gender reveal. Only 4 of the 24 cupcakes were filled with blue frosting. It was so fun!

I just decided to do this. We weren't going to find out but we are in the midst of moving soon so we want to have everything prepared. I had the anatomy scan done yesterday, and asked the tech to seal in an envelope. I am having just immediate family over. I am ordering in a ton of food, got the bakery to make a cake with the dye coloring of what the baby is. I ordered a set of blue and pink balloons. I am so ready and so so so so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are doing this tomorrow night! AHHHH!

gender reveal
With DD, we found out at the anatomy scan and brought both of our moms with us. My mom had printed cute signs with It's a boy/girl and pulled out the girl one as soon as the tech told us. She took a pic of DH and I holding the sign with the baby on the u/s screen in the background so I texted that to friends and family that day.
This time we're not finding out!

We always found out at our scans but liked to tell our other children in fun ways. With #4, we wrapped up a onesie that said Little Brother and had the kids open it. We did the balloons in the box this time around (just yesterday actually-posted the pic last night).

love that idea... ill prob be crying at my apt though lol... first time I saw baby moving I was balling!

A healthy baby. Gender isn't important at all. boy or girl my baby being healthy is what matters.

With my DS we had close family and a close friend who is essentially family over, had everyone wear blue if they thought boy or red/pink if they thought girl. then I came down the steps with a blue bow on my belly and we had a cookie cake that said "it's a boy!" We were going to do the cake cutting thing but thought it would be hard for everyone to see.
This time around we had my DS open a gift bag that had a onesie that gave away the gender. We video taped it and it was adorable. I will post it if I can figure out how

We also had the sono tech write it on an envelope so that we could do the cake thing. Had our close family and friends over and cut in front of everyone. Most of the people at the party assumed my DH and I knew so they were shocked to find out we didn't know at all...
It was such a good time!! We had people "dress in their guess" if they could (we are having twins so some people wore both blue and pink)...

We were going to invite our family over for dinner and then for dessert have cupcakes. Only one cupcake would have either pink or blue frosting inside and someone would have the reveal cupcake and have to show everyone.
What went wrong was DH and I have no impulse control. So, when the labs came back and we were told we could know the sex, we caved and found out right there.
