Need a new hairdresser/salon - recommendations please!!
My MIL is a hairdresser and has been cutting and coloring my hair for the past 5 years. She does an amazing job but she lives over an hour away. It's not as convenient as it used to be, plus I feel bad asking her to get together so I can have my hair done when we don't see each other as often as we used to as it is.
So where/who do you go to for a great cut and color?? I'm in Massapequa but anywhere in 20 minute radius or so will work for me!

I go to JP at Self Image Salon in Amityville. I've been going to her for about 6-7 years and still go there even though I move to Commack - she's worth it! I love her (she does my cuts and highlights) and the salon is nice without being snooty (I hate going to salons where you feel like you have to get all dressed up just for a haircut)

I've started going to Fringe in Amityville after hearing recs on the FB moms group.
I've had Helen and Liz and both do a great job.
I also like that I can call last minute and get an appt.
The salon I was going to only had a few girls and they got really big and you sometimes needed to wait days for an appt.
It's also about $50 for a cut.
I went really short this year and people always ask who does my hair.

The Edge salon in Roosevelt Field. They just moved to a new location outside of Nordstrom downstairs. They also did my wedding hair (and a few other people I know), I have never been disappointed - I see Margaret (she is the owner) but she gets REALLY busy - all stylists are great, she's REALLY picky about who she hires.

My hairdresser, Cara, comes to you. She is great and does both cuts & color. I live in Massapequa also she would definitely come to you. Her number is (516) 318-9764.

I have been getting color by Nina and cut by JoJo at De La Mer for about 1/2 year now and love it- but they're a little pricey- but worth it.
