Back from a break and ready.. Have few ?
To rock another cycle. Ended the stressful school year, took a break from the vitamins, hormones, acupunture and just has fun last few weeks. Now ready to start up again.
We met with dr and decided to do a frozen transfer with the 5 we froze from RS of NY. They were only frozen at 2PN so I'm not sure how well this will pan out but were trying.
I decided to change from suppositories to PIO. Any thoughts on the change?
Dr took more blood to test thyroid to bc I've been so lethargic- more so than usual. I'm on synthroid 50 mg but I'm not sure if that would make me this tire. Thoughts?
I'm probably going to do immune bloodwork as well. Dr doesn't see the need but will do it for me. Is this covered by insurance at all, anyone with empire plan for teachers have any feedback about coat of immune testing.
Dr did mention donor eggs as a possibility if I'm getting tired of doing these cycles. No pressure on him but he did being it up as an option.
Here we go!!!!!

Yay! Glad you're back! I'm thinking about getting back in the game myself! With the blood work, I don't believe it's all covered by insurance but they may have a program where you just pay a certain amount.
I did much better on PIO and the shot isn't that bad. My levels did better too!
Best thoughts for a great cycle!
Frozen got me preggo!

Back from a break and ready.. Have few ?
Hi!!!
Pio was my saving grace. Do it!
I don't have empire, but NYC teacher here. I did the blood clotting testing which I paid $175 for, and then GHI sent me checks for the bills I got. It was like $3,000. Not sure if you're going to do clotting testing either. IMO you should because that could affect implantation. At this point - I'd test for everything.
So glad you're back!

Ok good. My levels always seem good first test after transfer but I wanted to try PIO to see if it made a difference. I'll just submit bills to ins and see what I get. Def wanna do this. I just asked for immune testing- do I have to ask for anything specific or will they test for all. She said it takes 10 days to 2 weeks for results.
Thanks for info Michelle. Hope you're doing wella nd feeling well!!! Xo

Thanks for the welcome back. Thanks for info too. I'll submit to ins and see how much they cover. I have to learn how to give the shot bc it seems like it hurts like hell but I'll try any small difference to see if it works. I'm hoping theses frozens will work.

Back from a break and ready.. Have few ?
I have been thinking about you. I hope this frozen transfer is the answer. Will they transfer on day 3? How many? Glad you took a break! I took a 3 month break before the last IVF and it was nice to be normal again.
I agree with getting the immune testing. I don't have Empire but GHI and a portion of the immune testing was covered. It was done through Reporsource and I can't remember the exact cost but around $500 and I think I had to pay something for DH too. It was originally over $1000 and then they have some rate that you have to pay that is discounted. I got tested for NK cells and DQ Alpha Match with DH. I actually had someone come to my house to draw the blood bc it was hard for DH to get into the city with work. I'm glad I did it bc the partial DQ Alpha match showed up between DH and I and I was then put on Prednisone and Intralipids. I think without this testing I would have continued to have failed cycles. The mediation definitely helped keep me pregnant.
As far as PIO some REs believe PIO is better than suppositories. My RE wants you on PIO for IVF. I hate PIO and was on it for 2 and a half months. You gotta do what you gotta do. If it increased my chances it was worth shot.
Sending you lots of luck with this new cycle.

I would suggest the NK (natural killer cells) and DQ Alpha match with your DH. There are other immune tests out there but those are the 2 my RE suggested for me. I had already done the Recurrent Loss Panel with my previous RE so we knew if there were any other issues. Ask your RE which immune tests he suggests.

Back from a break and ready.. Have few ?
Crap I was going to to get tested didn't even think to have SO go through immune testing also. They took a bunch of blood from us last week when we went and will get results on that this week. I think I'm going to skip this months frozen cycle and do in August and spend July getting these immune tests done.
Thanks ladies. I sent an email to nurse already and asked ? Regarding all of this. Thank you!

My RE only recommended my DH get the DQ Alpha testing. It was a few tubes of blood. The results came back for both of us within 2 weeks. Then we were ready to do IVF the next cycle and added in Prednisone and Intralipids. It was annoying and expensive but for us it was worth it.

Re: Back from a break and ready.. Have few ?
I have GHI and while they barely have covered anything they fully covered some immune testing and blood clotting testing -but maybe b/c I already have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Good Luck!!

Re: Back from a break and ready.. Have few ?
Happy you are back!! Have been thinking of you. I have GHI city of NY and had full RPL bloodwork along with immune testing for NK cells and DQ alpha match. My DH had to also partake in the immune testing for the DQ. My RPL was covered fully. I had my immune testing done through reprosource and was warned by Dr. T that it is not covered but they work out great discounts. Turns out GHI did cover my immune bloodwork and I was only responsible for my deductible. So was DH. Either way, we were getting it done to knock another thing off the infertility list just to make sure bases were covered to know where to proceed next. Good luck with everything!!!! FM me if you need anything.
