I wrote a long response on your blog yesterday & then had technical difficulties.

Oops!

Mostly, I am jealous that you could go without foundation at 21! I started at 17!

Also-you may want to look at skin care products to help with the redness & combo skin, so it will be easier to find a good foundation.

I use the Bare Minerals Neutralizing primer (it's yellow) & that helps with redness.

Have you tried the Kat Von D Lock it Foundation? I haven't but I have heard good things about it for oily skin. I liked Lancome Teinte Idol Ultra 24 when I was oiler. I have heard good things about the new Bare Minerals liquid foundation.

I love the finish of Make Up Forever HD, but it doesn't last long on me. I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear Light now & it lasts, but is kind of a dull finish, so I sometimes mix it with Revlon Age Defying (by itself the Age Defying wears off too soon.)

I want to try Cover FX next.

For Powder Foundation, I like the Make up Forever Duo Mat, but it works better dry --wet tends to ruin the powder. I just spritz a setting spray on after to town down the powderiness.

Thanks for the info! I have to look. My biggest concern is my forehead lines - I'll go w/a dry flaky nose if my lines aren't visible.

Actually, I'm getting bangs cut next week so maybe I'll just cover up the forehead and go back to no foundation Chat Icon

Great post!

I think we might have the same exact skin type.

I have been using Revlon Colorstay BB Cream with Bare Minerals over it (especially in the summer) and like it. Not sure if there is anything "better" out there, but I used to use MAC and I honestly liked the Revlon just as much and it was like 1/3 of the price!

Great Blog! First I think if you are flaky/peeling you need to exfoliate. Clinique 7 day scrub is my favorite. I think think you need a toner, I am big on Philosphy and they make a great one. You put it on after you moisturize. I have a new obsession with Rimmel cream foundation which amazes me b/c it is about $5 and believe me I have spent my share of $$$ on a good foundation, I also think the trick is to apply with a sponge.

I miss Clinique Superfit. It was the BEST foundation, so light but covered awesome.

I haven't found anything I like as much since. Chat Icon

I wonder why they discontinued it. I was pretty devastated!

Have either of you tried L'Oreal True match Lumi? Someone online suggested that is a dupe for Superfit.

So true about Superfit makeup. I loved that stuff! I actually have one bottle unused left if you want it. The color is 05 neutral (mf-n). I used to buy tons when I visited my family because it was way cheaper in the US. I moved onto MAC, but now they have discontinued that, too.

If products are sinking into the lines in your face I would try a primer it gives you a smooth palette to start with

Thanks :) I have VERY fair German skin, though... I wish I was neutral Chat Icon I'm almost clear Chat Icon
