Do you like bed and breakfasts? If so, Angel of the Sea is great. If you want to be in walking distance to everything, then Queen Victoria or Captain May's. Just check trip advisor to confirm. If you don't want a b&b, then Congress Hall. There are amazing BYO restaurants, an adorable shopping area, ghost tours, trolley tours, horse and carriage rides, the beach, bike riding, a lighthouse, watching sunset at Sunset Beach, whale/dolphin watching boats, one is even at sunset, wineries and a zoo. If you want restaurant reccomendations, let me know. :)

Re: Cape May - Couples Weekend
We stayed at Congress Hall - just came back last week.
It was beautiful and the hotel was wonderful - it's very full service with a gorgeous pool and bar. The staff will bring you cushions, umbrellas, etc. And they will serve you poolside - food and drink. It is right on the beach, you just have to cross the street and you are there.
They have a fantastic restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - the Blue Pig Tavern. We loved it, so convenient. It is just steps from the shops/outdoor mall and main area where they have horse and carriage rides, the trolleys that take you around, etc. We went with a ten month old so we didn't do the vineyards but I hear the vineyards are great.
The best meal we had was at the Ebbitt Room at the Virginia -- it is a hotel also owned by Congress Hall and the Ebbitt Room is their restaurant, it was AMAZING so I definitely recommend eating there and you could also check out the Virginia to stay too but I loved Congress Hall and wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. The spa was beautiful too - it's just that they have everything right on site.
Hope that helps!
