toe hurts after pedicure

While getting my pedicure the girl asked if it hurt, she did pinch me for a second while cutting cuticle but I didn't think nothing major till that night I started to feel pain. It does not look that bad ..slightly swollen and red, it's a week later and it hurts alot though.. I put bacitrian on it few times..

Infection?
Foot Dr?
How long before heals you think?
Ask for refund?

It was a nice place I paid more than usual (i think)and almost never go. Real trea ift for me so disappointed

I would err on the side of caution and get an antibiotic. You just never know. If its a week later and hurting a lot, chances are an infection is brewing. Better safe than sorry, just my opinion!

-Also...to answer the other questions..

I would go to a general practitioner..no need for a specialist. I would go ASAP unless it happens to be a lot better in the morning. I don't think I'd ask for a refund but thats just me. A place can be squeaky clean but it takes one tiny bacteria to infect the toe. You could possibly have even infected it after the pedicure, no way to tell unfortunately.

Is it *****, throbbing, bleeding? Put peroxide on it for infection. I recently had a hang nail that killed me and I had to get some ointment (over the counter), I forget the name but it is brown. If you got to cvs ask the pharmacist

Definitely get it checked out. I work in a podiatry office and we see people all the time with infections! The longer you wait, the worse it can get.

My stepdaughter got a bad infection from a pedicure. I'd get it checked out!

coming from the person who has had a toe infection, nail fungus, and finally the effing nail removed surgically...

go see your family dr if you are still in pain. my toe became red and then black around the cuticle. Swelled and was tender. it also felt like my toe had a headache..that dull throb.

the dr. gave me Keflex antibiotic which is good for infections of skin and nails. within a day it was 1000x better. but ultimately the nail had to come off. I was dealing with nail fungus way before the infection which is why the nail had to be removed.

that was last summer. my toe nail isnt fully grown in yet.

And all this is why I will NEVER get a pedicure again. It's disgusting and asking for a fungus or infection. It's been years and my toenail is still not right. I think it will never be right again to be honest.
