IVF anxiety
I haven't even gone for saline sonogram & I already feel stressed about starting IVF- between the process and paying oop. also after 5 failed iui's I'm not sure how much more disappointment I can handle (I know many of you have been through worse). anyone else go through this?

IVF anxiety
Yes. I am anxious as it is... But with IVF I had more anxiety. I felt that to talking on here, to my DH and my family that new about it helped. I also felt that meditation CDs and acupuncture helped me a ton. It is overwhelming but once you're in it it gets a lot easier!

IVF anxiety
I just recently posted this in response to someone's post about IVF......
This is my first cycle and I can relate to your excitement and nerves about the procedure! I freaked out when I got my first medication delivery and laid everything out on my dining room table -- it looks like soooooo much stuff, but my best advice is to just take everything one day at a time. I freaked out the first night of my injections -- it took me forever to mix the meds and load the needle (okay, it was probably 25 minutes but felt like forever -- I was getting frustrated and started to cry -- DH tried to calm me down, I snapped at him, he yelled at me, I yelled back at him -- can you picture this in your mind?!?!) Well, long story short, the nightly injections are now just a part of our routine. I can mix the meds and load the needle in like 3 minutes and DH gives me the shot in less than a minute. Just remember to breathe, take it easy, and keep your eyes on the prize -- you are going through all of this for the greatest gift ever -- a baby!!! Feel free to FM me if you need anything!

IVF anxiety
I'm an anxious person by nature so going through Ivf only magnified it. For me, I had felt like I had 4 failed iuis (two with injectables that I even had the selective reduction talk bc they thought I would have multiples). So when I did Ivf I felt a lot more pressure like I was pulling out all the stops and if this didn't work then nothing will. Well it didn't work,...but I picked myself back up and did it again and now have a 13mo dd.
Take it one day at a time. Try not to look ahead. Just think today I have this appt and this shot. What can I do to better my chances? I tried to go for walks and took a lot of rescue remedy to relax me and take the edge off the second time around.
It will all be worth it and trust me when I say this will all be a blur when you're on the other side holding a baby in your arms.

Re: IVF anxiety
Anxiety is totally normal. So many things running through your mind.
Accepting that you need to make the jump to IVF.
Looking at the meds and thinking, "Can I do this?"
Fear of getting cycle cancelled.
Fear of getting knocked out.
Worry about not enough eggs.
Worry about not enough fertilizing.
Worry about quality of embryos.
Nerves day of transfer.
Wondering, "What if it doesn't work?"
All normal stuff. Just try to take it one day at a time. The support from here and on other boards gets you through it.

About to start the IVF process as well. My friend who has been thru this recommended an acupuncturist, is anyone seeing one? and can anyone recommend one in the Bethpage area?

Re: IVF anxiety
I am about to start IVF for the first time too (paying out of pocket as well) and I go between excitement and nerves. I am mostly excited though I have to say. Thanks to the generosity of two lovely ladies on here - who I can never thank enough - I am set on medications for this cycle and for that I am so very relieved and thankful. Once we do the injections class and get done with the BCP this is all gonna get real and then the panic will surely hit Good luck everyone!!!!
