back again for #2
Hey girls :) I'm 2010 bride in hiding and I am back for baby #2.. I shockingly got a BFP Monday and I have been going crazy ever since! I can't sleep and been so emotional! of course I am super excited but I'm also nervous and not prepared.. this wasn't really planned and I'm shocked cause there could have only been one chance this past month that I could have gotten preggers, LOL..
Had a ques though, I had a UTI the same week we so was on antibiotics, then had a regular physical 2 weeks ago.. My bloodwork came back normal but my thyroid was borderline so I have to go back in 8 weeks.. Now nothing came back that I was pregnant.. was it to early? or you have to test the blood specifically for pregnancy?

It was (a) way way too early, and (b) you have to test specifically for the HCG in your blood. So, if you had the physical 2 weeks ago, it was LIKELY right around when you would have ovulated, most doctors won't test for HCG in a monitored cycle until 14 dpo (or equivalent) and regular ob's won't test until you get a BFP.
Congratulations! Happy and Healthy!!

Thank you so much!! Here is the crazy thing though.. we DTD on the 13th..That was the only time, I had the physical on the 23rd, could I have ovulated that late after I DTD ?

10 days is a long time, but you probably O'ed somewhere around the 13th, then, maybe up to the 16th. That said, even if you were to have had a physical, nothing would have shown up unless they specifically tested for it. BUT, the elevated thyroid levels could have been a result of the pregnancy (you never know). I would call your doctor ASAP to see if they want to repeat your thyroid levels and do a complete thyroid panel.

OK great, that is what I thought! I called the doc today to tell him that I got BFP and if that may have been the result of thyroid level being borderline. :)

It definitely could have, pregnancy alters your thyroid levels, for sure. I would still ask to have a COMPLETE thyroid function panel, NOT just a tsh (the screening test), just to make sure there isn't something going.

Re: back again for #2
Congrats! Got my Bfp on Tuesday!
But with my first it was the same thing as you described. It was one night we and that's all it took! Because I had come down with a uti, bacterial and a yeast infection! I was on a number of meds for all of this and was pregnant the whole time not knowing of course. My dd is 3 now and she's perfect!
I'm also having super anxiety about having to start over again with a new baby and also having trouble with the feelings that I'm taking something away from my dd. I'm hoping it passes sooner than later.
