Beaches on Long Island
Hi parents,
I'm looking to spend a day at the beach with the family on Saturday. We're traveling from Brooklyn and are not really familiar with the best beaches out there.
So any recommendations for a great day at a beach with relatively calm waters?
Thanks so much!

The only place you will find calm is the North Shore, and those beaches are so rocky it's not even fun IMO. Long Beach is nice with soft sand and no rocks/pebbles. But there are waves, I would check the tide chart and go when it's low tide maybe.

This is true however the beach on the bays are not so rocky. Its the sound that has the rocks.
