TMNT movie?

How young is too young? My son is begging to see it but he is 4! He watches the show regularly? Thoughts?

Its PG13... I am sure for "violence" and language. We are on the fence.

TMNT movie?

My son will be 4 in October. I would love to but I think we're going to skip it at the theater. That's just based on what I've seen on the trailers on you tube. Depending on the reviews when it comes out will depend if we watch it at home when it comes out on blu-ray.

Yes - let me know. My son wants to see it as well (he will be 5 in Dec).

I hate that these pre-schoolers are introduced to characters so young - and then you are torn as to whether they can see the movies! He really wanted to see the Transformers movie but, I don't think he's ready for that.

For some reason my DD wants to see this. She is older than 4 but I have mixed feelings. I am not a fan of PG13. But now I feel I have to evaluate everything individually.

It seems like it used to be that cartoons were G and most family type movies were PG. PG13 was for those older family movies for those not quite at R. Now it feels like almost every cartoon is PG now and things that were PG in the past are PG 13 now.

After reading a ton of reviews on this movie, I think they went PG-13 because of the guns and excessive action. I have read there is no foul language, no sex, no blood etc. In this day and age, 1 gun will bump a movie to PG-13.

Re: TMNT movie?

My DH promised to take my son.. he's not even 4 yet! He also gets scared easily.. All he does is talk about their movie date though so I feel bad saying no!! I guess I will maybe just let it happen. First really loud scene he will be screaming to leave anyhow

They both loved it! DH said there was nothing inappropriate for a 4 year old but parts were loud and action packed. My son said it was great :)

This is a good site for reviews:
http://www.kids-in-mind.com/t/teenagemutantninjaturtles.htm

We use this site and the site common sense media for reviews.

My son is six and we decided not to take him, I made that decision based on the trailer I saw, it just seems more dark than I want him to see at this point. I do have two friends that brought their children, ages 5 and 7, and had no problem with it.

We took my son (5.5), and he loved it!!! There were tons of kids his age and younger there!! No sex, foul language or blood. Just very action packed!!!
