Little further east, but I go to Fringe in Amityville.
Have rotated between 2 girls (Liz and Helen) and have never had a bad cut.
I've paid either $40 or $50 depending on what I have done and they are good about scheduling last minute appts where you aren't waiting a long time either to be seen that day.
Usually when I call they can see me within 2 hours, often sooner.

Any of the 3 stylists at Karma salon (Nikki, Krista, Jen) -- its on Jerusalem Ave in Merrick by the racquetball court place. Nikki is the owner and I think her cuts are more expensive. I think with Krista I pay $50?
