Tutoring for Reading Comp.
What are some of your go to strategies and materials for Reading Comprehension? I am tutoring a student who has difficulty focusing, retelling a story and answering questions or writing about what he read. TIA

If there's a problem with re telling I like to do stop and jots. Divide text info smaller sections. Have student write a summary, a ?, their thoughts, a word they don't get (one of those at a time) on a post-it. It will help him get his thoughts together before moving on. The jots shouldn't be more than a sentence or two and can just be bullet points.
