Re: Strep B....
It's really not a big deal at all and pretty common, just make sure to follow your dr's directions. Mine told me to go to the hospital if my water broke and start the iv of antibiotics. The hospital already had my dr's paperwork so they were aware I was gbs +
You will be given an iv of antibiotics during the delivery as well. I had this with my other dc and it was never an issue.

Re: Strep B....
I have it too and was scared by it. One thing i did was take extra probiotics, because i am not too happy with The idea of antibiotics before the baby has even come out! I also wanted to strengthen the flora of the birth canal as much as possible, because baby builds a lot of immunity from there. Also, just because you tested positive on that day, doesnt mean you will be positive on day of birth. Even though you will still need the antibiotics, it may not even be present and therefore pose no risk!

Re: Strep B....
it sounds more scary that it is-
its amazing how common it actually is- anyway its no big deal you will just be on an antibiodx for 4 hours of your labor
I ended up w an emergency C-section and my son was in NICU for a night w an IV for precautions

Strep B....
I tested positive with my first. I had a c/s and they just put the rx in my IV. It's not a big deal. Not sure if DD or DS had further testing. I never thought about it honestly.
ETA once I tested positive my Dr treated each subsequent pregnancy as positive and its been fine each time :)

Strep B....
I had it with DD and it wasn't scary but it does kinda stink. My water didn't break so I did get to labor at home for a long time. Once I got to the hospital they started the iv antibiotics which stung a lot going in. It also took a long time to get in the two full bags they wanted and the doctor wouldn't come in to break my water until they were in so that probably stalled things a bit for me. Other than that it was fine and I don't recall DD ever being tested for it. Hoping not to test positive this time though!

Re: Strep B....
I had it. No big deal. They just give you an anti biotic when you get to the hospital. I don't think we were tested after I gave birth.
