Lunch ideas

My daughter is 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. She is looking for some lunch ideas. The smell of a lot of things are already making her queasy, but she's hoping that some of your ideas will help! We know cold cuts are not good (unless heated). What about American cheese bought aT the deli counter? Is there a chance of listeria in that too, or is it just cold cuts? Thanks for any ideas you may have. She's hungry all the time!

I was told by my doctor that anything in the deli counter is a no-go. But the packaged American cheese slices in the refrigerated cheese section are okay. I think sargento has a deli-like one and now so does kraft. Just make sure its pasteurized (which it probably is).
When I was queasy I snacked throughout the day: cheerios, soups, soft pretzels, carrots.

It seems like every OB has different opinions but mine said no to cheese from the deli counter bc of cross contamination. My typical lunches are pbj, cheese and crackers, grilled cheese, french bread pizzas, greek yogurt, soup. I also sometimes do hot dogs or BLTs which aren't the greatest bc of nitrates but I have them on occasion.

There was a week I could only stomach carbs. I lived off toast, saltines, pastina and gingerale. Hot water with lemon was soothing too. She should just eat what she can at this point. Hopefully she'll feel better soon!

Also if you melt the cheese it's fine.
