IUI pricing
So, I am doing my first IUI with LI IVF this month. They called me today to tell me my insurance doesn't cover (which I already knew) and that it's $1900
Is this the price everywhere or does it seem high?

Wow that seems high. My insurance didn't cover my fourth one. I would have to look but I feel like it was well under $1000.

Rs of ny is I believe $995. I started looking into it, and they told me per iui is 995.

That sounds like a high price. Maybe they can code the sonos and blood work for the iui differently so it won't be listed under infertility. Then, you will be charged just for the iui procedure. Does the $1900 include meds such as injectables. The injectables are expensive. Are you using chlomid or femara instead. If so, then the iui should be less money. Also, if using a trigger shot, such as ovidrel, that will cost more money. If using injectables, I would ask the facility for some donated meds since you are paying out of pocket. Good luck with everything.

This is correct (last cycle was in June). This does not include the cost of medication though

That sounds really high. My insurance covers my IUI attempts at NSUH - but I believe the "explaination of benefits" breakdown was around $800-900 (no meds).

OK I looked back at my bill and it was just over $800 + meds for triggering. I am not sure if the monitoring appt was included in that or if that was another bill.

It is on paperwork Clomid IUI includes:
Endocrine testing
Ultrasound
Cycle Monitoring
Semen analysis
Insemnation
Sperm prep
Is li ivf the most expensive place?? My luck I pick the most $$ doctors.

what is ur issue? Dr. SAN Roman of LIJ worked with me and it only cost $500-800 a cycle. I love him.

Unfortunately I've paid that 1900 case rate many times at LIIVF! It was $1200 just a year ago, and then they made a HUGE raise to it.
It includes the cycle monitoring day 3 through progesterone test. They do not include beta. IUI is included, and back to backs if you need are also included. No meds.
I just got a quote at SIRM for IUI and it was over 2000. I must be going to the wrong places LOL
