hi, help please

Hi! I am an active member but want to post this anonymously if someone can please help. I was just diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. Can someone point me in the right direction? I know I need surgery, I know it will be hard to conceive too. I am devastated and any help you offer would be appreciated. Thank you so much

I believe many woman on here recommend a specific Dr. at Cornell for endo.....good luck to you.

I have endo also (stage 2 diagnosed through surgery). Question though, how did they diagnose you at stage 4 without surgery? Typically the only way to be diagnosed is through surgery. That being said, I went to Dr Pillitteri who is an OB GYN for my surgery. He came recommended to me from my RE (who also recommended another surgeon who only does endo surgeries but does not take insurance). Dr P does several of these laps a week so he has a lot of experience. I went through IVF shortly after my surgery and was successful on the first try. I would recommend you find a surgeon that uses excision surgery to get rid of the endo, rather than laser, as excision is proven to remove the endo more effectively (although unfortunately there is no guarantee it won't recur ) . I also went to an RE who has extensive knowledge of endo and the other effects it has on the body such as the immune system. Dr B was my RE, but I know SIRM follows many of the same practices. Dr B actually just did a seminar where he talks about the effects of endometriosis, it was very useful.

My only regret in treating my Stage 4 endo was not getting to the Center for Endometriosis Care sooner. Dr. Sinervo is amazing. They are in Atlanta and it was out of network, but it was worth the money. If that is an option you are considering and you have any questions, feel free to FM me.

Hi! I went to an RE for over a year before making an appointment with Dr. Kreiner at LI IVF. He took one look at my ovaries via a sonogram and said he was 99 percent sure I had severe endo and needed surgery. I did some research and made an appointment with Dr. Nimeroff (affiliated with NS Manhasset). He is considered one of the top surgeons in the NY area for that type of surgery. I discussed my options with him and decided on laprascopy. I had the surgery done in November of 2012. By then the endo had spread to my colon area. They performed the laprascopy, removing my left tube. Fast forward to March of 2013. We did our first IVF post- surgery and got preggo for the first time after 9 failed IUIs and 1 failed IVF pre-surgery. Unfortunately, we lost that baby, but got pregnant again almost right away from a frozen cycle and I am sitting here nursing my 4 month old son.

Having endo does not mean you won't have a baby, but it does make it harder to conceive and surgery might be your best bet at helping you become a mommy!
