Moving Company Situation - Was I wrong?
Can you please share the company. We are moving soon and I do not want this disaster. I'm so sorry this happened to you!

I was considering a review but haven't gotten around to it yet. If you don't feel comfortable posting you can FM me. I'm also starting to discover quite a few things that were broken and never told to me. What's the point of the insurance I purchased then?

With sites like Yelp, etc, I am surprised businesses try to get away with stuff like that. Some of it could be normal practice for the industry but expecting you to shell out for lunch was way out of line.

Negative reviews abt a vendor from this site r always taken down, its def not right but I know it also happens. I m on my phone but will FM the info to anyone that requested it late on today.

I'm not a LIF vendor but we looked into it for DH business.
Honestly one of the reasons decided against is because of the type of business it is, and the nature of some of the posters on here who have no real knowledge of the type of business he does....(I.e. Costs, timelines for work to be completed) I could totally see negative reviews for that reason.
I follow a bunch of threads when people are asking for recommendations of the work he does, and honestly, I wouldn't want him taking on those posters as customers based on some things they write and they haven't even started work with anyone.

P.S. it wasn't hard to figure out the moving company. I cannot believe they asked you to get their lunch. Beyond ballsy. When I went to work, I didn't ask my boss to buy me lunch. So insane!!! Thanks for the post though, now I know who NOT to use if I move!

I think one reason is members don't pay. Vendors do. So they keep this site up and running. They need to protect that.
Not saying its right. But it's the way it's done.

I'm sorry this happened to you.
If it is that company, I had them come for an estimate when we were moving last month. His estimate was substantially higher (claimed we would need twice as many men for twice as long compared to all of the other companies!). We thankfully did not use them. I can't believe what they pulled with the lunch. What a load of crap.
We used Allied if anyone is interested, and had a good experience. Charles Wood also seemed like an honest company, nice guy and fair estimate.
