PCOS- need info please
so, me and DH have been TTC for about 5 years now & have "unexplained infertility" Got pg w/my son about 7 yrs ago on my 3rd month of trying. Tried iui's this time around & it didn't work. Anyway, I'd say for about the past 6 months or so, I've been nauseaus- on and off, sometimes its daily for a week or two. It is awful. It seems to happen right before AF, but it lingers for a while. My AF is very regular- have never missed one. And i'm always having stomach issues. So, I finally called my gyno and she is sending me for a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound. She wants to see if there are any cysts that maybe they missed last time. In talking to someone- she wondered if maybe I have PCOS. I looked it up online, and i'd say that I have about 12 out of the 15 or so common side effects. I was just wondering- those who have it- what your symptoms were, and what you did/are doing to help with that. Also, if you are still TTC.. I don't want to diagnose myself, but i'd be surprised if I didn['t have it at this point. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! I can't wait to have an answer, this nausea is killing me :(

PCOS- need info please
I have PCOS. I have irregular periods unless I am on medication. I have most of my weight gain around my middle area. I have increased hair growth in not so great places. I also have had cysts. There is medication you can use. I am on Metformin. My sister also has it and she would get very bad periods and feel very sick.... upset stomach. I hope you get the answers and feel better soon. Did you do IUIs with the RE or OBGYN?

Re: PCOS- need info please
My pcos symptoms were: very irregular periods (with no ovulation or infrequent ovulation), crazy bleeding episodes, acne & some body hair (not very bad but I think more than most women), difficulty losing weight despite diet & exercise, cysts on ovaries, and bloodwork showing my hormone levels out of balance. Not sure how severe or how typical my pcos was/is. I didn't have any stomach issues with it.
I hope you feel better & find out what's going on! Good luck!

Re: PCOS- need info please
I don't have PCOS, but what I do have causes the same symptoms and requires the same treatment. I have long irregular cycles with painful periods, (for which I do nothing about), cystic acne (for which I see a dermatologist) ugly body hair (for which I have laser treatments on. Laser helps thin the hair but I have to go ongoing). Those are my most invasive symptoms.
I spoke to an endocrinologist about hormone therapy, but he didn't feel I was a good candidate.
