So how'd it go?

Those of you who started K/school today?

DS did great.

No more tears this year. He was the "big boy" at pre-care.

DH however....the teachers had to hand him a napkin and tell him it would be alright.

I had a few tears but waited until I was out of the public.

DS did amazing. He literally blew me a kiss, turned his back and marched away.. leaving my heart shattered to a million a pieces in his wake.


I picked him up from after care and he told me to leave and come back later after he had a snack. Here I am counting down the seconds and he sends me away

DS starts K tomorrow and I am all over the place...one part of me -the rational part feels he is so ready and he will love it and make friends and learn lots..the irrational side has me he is my baby..after nearly 9 years I will be home alone - maybe I will get some work done for a change but it will be so weird...the irrational side of me wishes I had more downtime to spend with him last year and I didn't always have to work so bloody much ( I am a WAHM)...the irrational side of me is mourning all the stages that I have passed with my kids and I have been hiding tears all day.

Lets just hope the irrational side of me can stay buttoned up until at least after I drop him off tomorrow. I will be wearing sunglasses inside the school.

This was "old hat" for DS. He has been going to preschool on a bus since 2 y/o. The bus arrived, he backhanded waved to me, buckled himself in next to a boy and off they went. :snff: He's so big

It went great! He was so excited in the morning he couldn't stop jumping around. Walked on the bus like a champ. When I picked him up at after care he was having a blast - even in 100 degree weather. He was so excited telling me about the day, his friends, the teacher, everything!

I'm assuming I have a strange kid because I don't see the adjustment period needed with him. He actually told me school was so short.

DS started Kindergarten yesterday He's been going to full day daycare since he was 6 months old, so this isn't a huge schedule change for him, but the school/kids/teachers are all new to him this year.

He did great! He got right on the school bus and made friends with another kindergartener on the bus. I'm so proud of him!!

My daughter loved her first day of kindergarten yesterday. It was the longest day of my life but when she got off that bus 45 mins late almost 5pm all smiles!!!

My kids started today. We moved on Saturday to a new district so it was a lot of firsts for us as a family. Thankfully it went great. I hope tomorrow will be the same. I hope everyone else is adjusting to their schools too!

It went great! DS is so happy at his school and loves his teacher. I hope the feeling continues!
