Another Disney question
I want to take our kids to Disney next year- our ds will be 5 and in kindergarten and our twins will be around 1. My question is should I try to,plan around a school vacation when it might be crowded or is it ok and acceptable to take him out of school???

Another Disney question
You will get 100 responses on this, some say yes, some say no. Missing a few days in elementary school isn't going to break them. Family vacations ARE important, despite what some may say.
Do whatever YOU are comfortable with, not what a bunch of strangers on the internet say to do

Re: Another Disney question
For me, especially in kindergarten, I am totally okay with taking them away for a few days...and have done so for the past 2 years!
Have fun!!!

Re: Another Disney question
YES! I would, and did, take DS out of elementary school (kindergarten) to go to Disney! I hope to never go there during a school vacation or summer!!!

Re: Another Disney question
As a teacher, I used to be adamantly against this, but as a mom now, I say go! What's a few missed days of school compared to a family vacation?

Re: Another Disney question
I plan on pulling DS out of school (K) in Feb to go to Florida. Im not even thinking twice lol. Theyre not earning college credit. Family time and making memories are far more important than a few days of school.

Re: Another Disney question
I have no problem with pulling from school for a vacation. Disney during school breaks is super expensive and super crowded. It will literally cost you double and you will see/ride half as much.

This.
I would absolutely not let LIF influence my decision on what is best for MY family.

Re: Another Disney question
A few missed days of school won't make or break your kids education IMO. I feel like it's worth pulling them to make your vacation more enjoyable........less crowds, less money.
That being said, we are pulling DD from school in the fall for Disney. We are going away for ten days, she will miss 6 days of school. I have NO desire to do Disney when school is out and the memories we will be making will be priceless so I'm glad we planned our trip the way we did.
Do what's best for your family.

Re: Another Disney question
I had no issues pulling my kids out of school so young. They do well in school, have no struggles and easily go back to routine. As they got older it has been harder. I pulled for a few days in 3rd grade and saw how much he missed. My son in now in an adv. learning program in 4th grade and I couldn't do it now...he'd miss too much. I say do it while you can and what's best for you and your family.
