Grass cloth Wallpaper
Anyone use this in your home? Considering it for my family room. Pros/cons. Thanks.

Re: Grass cloth Wallpaper
My parents have it in their dining room. It looks nice. The thing you need to know is that the dye lots vary per sheet, so you need to lay it out before putting it up on the wall to see where you want each strip in relation to the others for color purposes. So if you lay it out color wise, you might get one light wall and one dark wall. The other thing is how are the strings attached? The first type my parents had - they have done this twice - the stings were thicker and ended coming off of the wallpaper. With the thinner strings that has not happened. I think the newer one had the strings also sewn not just glued which made an enormous difference.

Re: Grass cloth Wallpaper
Thanks for the reply. Were your parents able to do anything to minimize the dye lot variation or is it just luck of the draw? This is not at the top of the house to do list, but I really like the look of it and think it will bring character to our family room.

Re: Grass cloth Wallpaper
They requested the same dye lot but even then there is still variation because of the string. The natural fibers take dyes differently.

Re: Grass cloth Wallpaper
You might want to consider vinyl grasscloth, its a bit more family friendly for a high traffic room.

Does this have the same look? I'm not familiar.
