Where to sell reclaimed items?
DH and I are doing a major renovation and have many pieces from our home that we saved that are of historical and architectural significance---we just don't need them anymore with the new design.
Is there a place where I can look to sell these things (most from the early 30s) on Long Island. I have no idea where to begin. Thanks!

I always look for things like this on Craigslist. Could you message me if you post anything? We're actually renovating a house from the 1920s we just bought and might be interested!

You could also donate what you have to Build it Green NYC in Brooklyn which resells them. If you have enough, it will pick up. You would get a tax deduction, and the money BIGNYC makes goes to rehabbing homes for people who can't afford it.
It's also a wonderful place to find things needed for renovation - Bathroom fixtures, door knobs and hardware, doors, etc. Even fireplace surrounds and mid-century modern furniture. I found out about it from This Old House. It's great!
