Update, therapy through EI in a school setting?

Hi, sorry this is long..
Right now my DS (just turned 2) is receiving ABA therapy 4x a week and speech 2x a week. He has been receiving speech since March and ABA since June (took a few months to get started because there was trouble finding me a team leader). Today my service coordinator at the agency called to check in to see how everythings going and asked if i noticed any improvement. I have not (DS still does not have any communication), but also I am not sure what to expect at this point. My service coordinator at the agency suggested we up his sessions of ABA but this has been an issue because we have scheduling problems- my DH's work schedule is rotating all of the time and I work FT, so we only have set times during the week where we know someone is definitely going to be at home. I am wondering if it would be easier just to send DS to a school where he gets all of his therapy done there. I know I would have to wait until he is 3 to send him to a special needs pre-school, but is it possible to send him to a school while he is still in EI?

I think it would have to be a daycare at this age. That being said, there should not be an issue with the therapist going to where ever he is and giving him the services while he's there. You would just have to make sure that where ever you would place him would be willing to have his ABA team come in.

P.S. I got a phone call from the same service coordinator today as well. Guess she's just going down a list, lol.

My son went to a half day program while in EI at a school for special needs kids. After a battle with the district, he is now in a full day program at the same school and it starts in Sept. They are "aging him out" of EI before he turns 3 so he can start in Spet in the full day program.

My team leader was amaging and she is the one that got the ball rolling on getting him into a half day program.

Are you in Nassau? There aren't many and they don't advertise this, but there are absolutely a few EI center based programs around. I live in queens and there are only 3 and none of them worked out for us but I believe there are more (and better) in Nassau.

My son went to DDI through EI. Sending him there was suggested by EI. The school has an open program specifically for EI students. Schedule a meeting with the EIOD or at least call and speak to them. They will know what schools offer programs at this age. We had services at school 3 days a week and the days he did not go to school, we had services at home. He is now transitioning to CPSE and will continue at the same school 5 days a week with PT and ST.

UPDATE: I was able to get my DS approved for a school! Not sure when I am going to have DS start, still waiting for a call from the school, but this will be his last week of therapy from the agency that i'm currently using b/c his current IFSP is ending. Now my issue is finding a way to get him to school, since I have to be at work at the time when school starts. I did request busing but, they told me it takes 2 weeks to set up, and I have no clue what time it would pick him up (we live 5 min away, so they very well could pick him up 10 min before school starts). I also spoke to a daycare located next door to the school and they said they would have to "evaluate" my DS to see if its a proper setting for him... (please, I am only asking for an hour of babysitting!)

Just wanted to see if there were other working parents out there in the same situation? Or those of you whose kids take the bus, what time have they typically picked up your LO and how far away was the school? TIA!

Also you should get a phone call from the driver at least the day before he starts with an estimated pick up time. Last year we started mid year so DS had to be worked into the route. I received a phone call from the driver telling me what time he would be picked up, give or take a few minutes. I also spoke to the afternoon driver for drop off.
When the school year started it was different because they set up the schedule on a dry run and I actually had to sign paperwork that the driver has spoken to me regarding drop off and pick up.
