Doctor needed - mine is joining a "VIP program". LOL!!!
I am looking for a male general physician on the North Fork on the east end. I like my present doctor but today received notice that she is joining an "MD VIP" program and anyone who wants to continue with her can have the privilege at the tune of $1650 annually!! I never saw anything outstanding about her so my answer is NO. This just shows me a desire to work less ("fewer patients - easier accessibility" as she put it) for More Money and a Big Ego! My reaction - Riverhead is not Park Avenue!!
Please feel free to FM me doctor recommendations if you are more comfortable that way.

problem is too many patients not enough qualified doctors and that is why you have so many nurse practitioners running healthcare places. so in order to cull the client list - yea MD VIP. can't recommend anyone but good luck!

it's happens with lot's of business. if you have a crush of clients that you simply can't take on, make it exclusive and VIP and charge more so you take on less people and get paid about the same or sometimes more.
as far as doctors - i know a few who do this but in NYC and upstate westchester area.

This happened to my MIL.
She lives in Arizona. Her Doctor told her personally that he was joining this special group and was offering her the opportunity to get in on the ground floor as one of his "elite" patients if she paid "thousands" up front for that privilege. He would be her "PRIVATE" physician at her beck and call !!!!
She decided not to do it.

My dr did this back in 2002 so it's not anything new.
I don't have any recs personally but my train buddy lives in greenport part time and grew up there. I will ask him.
