no one in that office gives patients the courtesy of a returned phone call or email. especially when it comes to finance and medication
I have called and left emails I cant tell you how many time over the last 3 weeks for the referral and medication person and nothing.
When you finally call and grab someone no says, sorry.. in fact its as if you haven't been trying to contact them. You get different information from different people. It makes me feel like an annoying patient but a returned call would take away some of the stress. I am soo tired of tracking people down.
This is the only doctors office I go to where I feel this frustrated!!
I call my patients/clients back because I know they want updates.

I had an issue with them as well. One nurse forgot to call in my prescription which caused me to cancel that months IUI. Then i tried calling to switch doctors 3 times and I never got a call back. That's when I decided to leave and I'm so glad I did. I LOVE my new doctor and office!!!

I currently use them and have had success in the past. If you leave a message before 2pm (with the nurses)they will call you back same business day (usually after they call back the patients that had monitoring that morning). If it's after 2pm it's the next business day. As far as billing department they usually pick up when I call so never had to leave messages. For medication questions leave a message for the nurse.

I agree with this. For meds, call the nurse section before 2pm and they are usually pretty good about calling back. If you are looking for medication approval through insurance, you will have to speak to cheryl (good luck) and when I had to deal with her, I just went in person and they seated me with her immediately. In person is the best way to get things done with anything financial or insurance related. Do not bother emailing- they never respond to that even though the Drs will tell you to email them- don't. I dealt with Dr. Sung primarily and she only called me when I had my miscarriages. Other than that, only the nurses will call you- they usually will relay info back and fourth from the Dr but it's rare to get a Dr on the phone. In my experience with my IVF cycle, they were pretty competant with getting my meds ordered and when they screwed up, Cheryl made sure she gave me donated meds to cover until I got my shipment so they always find a way to work it out. In an office like that, you HAVE to stay on top of your case and that means always double checking stuff- even making sure they have your correct chart. I did not like that but even in SIRM, which is known for it's competance, I had issues with meds being ordered incorrectly and my nurse disappeared mid cycle due to a medical emergency. Things happen in fertility offices which are usually high volume and you have to find the best way to get things done. You know you can FM if you need anything. Hang in there hun, I know it's stressful!

Re: RSofNY
its not so much the RNs they usually call back its the rest of the office. many times the dr tells me he spoke to so and so and they will call me and I never get a call.
I don't want to stress over this and Im doing less of that this time, but its frustrating. When people leave by 2 PM because they arrive by 7 ?? I cant always go in person and even when you do and they are to get back to you with an answer...nothing.
I have to call the front and have someone walk over or call an admin assistant
Its not the nurses Im talking about

Re: RSofNY
You know, I just thought of this. When I graduated from them end of June, two of the really GREAT front desk girls were pretty pregnant along with two nurses who practically ran the joint. Maybe they are out at this point and they have newbies running the place. I know the girls that knew me well and handled my case good were pretty far along.

Although I wasn't a fan of that practice and left, whenever I called the nurses they did get back to me in a timely manner. As far as insurance I contacted a woman named jean and she always got back to me. Was trying to contact another woman named Cheryl but she was on maternity leave. Would have been nice if her voicemail said this and to direct me to so done else but I eventually contacted someone else that could help me. As far as the doctors returning calls, that's another story... :/

I'm having the exact same problems with them! The nurses call back, but I've already delayed my IVF cycle because they're supposed to let me know about donated meds as I have no coverage and no one calls back! It's definitely making me feel stressed. I'm sorry you're having trouble too!

I also dealt with Jean for my IVF and insurance. She was great. Our insurance is very straightforward with everything so I guess that made it easier, but she was very accommodating and always called me back immediately. Now that I am pregnant, she told me I can call her back any time to see how much is left in my IVF insurance to be sure that our embryo storage is paid for.

Call and speak with the receptionist tell them you've been waiting a week for a call back you need your meds ASAP because you are out. They will put a nurse on the phone.

This is what I do when I need to reach a nurse right away. I'm sorry you're going through so much trouble. I hope you get your meds soon.

Re: RSofNY
the problem is I am waiting for Cheryl to appeal my insurance company for meds because I have to pay out of pocket, and Im trying to get them to pay. I called the insurance company today and they have no appeal in place so I don't know what she is doing or not doing. The office was going to try and give me meds but I don't know about that either.
I called three times today. The frustration is not being kept in the loop, not getting called back AND having to trust someone else to complete the needed paperwork.

So did you ask the nurses if they have meds they can just donate to you in the mean time? Ask for Jenn the NP at the Mineola office. I was just there and I'm OOP for meds and she was willing to give me some of the Vivelle Patches but I prefer the oral tablet(worked for me last time and a whole lot cheaper).

I just came home from the office, no Jenn today. Spoke to Cheryl I'm good for the next few days.
Thank you everyone for your support.
