I think my dad is dying

My father suddenly became ill on Tuesday- vomiting brown liquid and chills. My mom says he hasnt eaten since then except maybe half a banana and a small amount of rice pudding. He sleeps or lies down almost the entire day.

I thought he was turning a corner this morning when my mom said he got up and slowly took a shower by himself but then hes been sleeping again since morning.
He hasnt eaten again today because he says his chest hurts when he eats food and hes now complaining the gatorade we have been giving him to replenish his fluids is making him nauseous again so he wont drink that.

He's lost so much weight over the last few years but has been hiding it under baggy clothes.
I think he's known something has been wrong but wouldnt tell us. He hasnt been to a doctor in 20 years so that's not even an option.
I told him my kids were worried about him but he didnt even respond. It seemed like it was too much to respond to my questions.

I'm so sad and frustrated. Thanks for letting me just get it all out.

Update:

We brought him to the hospital in the nick of time. I finally convinced him to go even though I wouldve dragged him kicking and screaming.

Turns out he was severely dehydrated but he was off the charts for sugars and we found out he has had diabetes for probably years. Also he had sepsis for an infection from a wound on his foot that didnt heal. He never told anybody!

He has been in the hospital for a week now and its been a hard road- insulin shots and pills, lots of tests, surgery on his foot ( they are trying to stop the infection from spreading and not amputate)

I am very lucky though because he was much much worse. At least now we have a chance.

I'm so happy for the positive turnout! I am so relieved that they know how to treat this and hopefully, he can heal in peace and live a long, happy life!
