First Birthday Ideas
I don't post on here often, but I am starting to think of DS first birthday. His birthday is Feb 12, so it can't be outside. Any ideas on where we can have it? I live in the Smithtown area, so we were thinking some place out by us, but we are open to suggestions!
Thanks!!

First Birthday Ideas
DS birthday is this Friday and we're having a casual party at home on Saturday. I went all out for the christening so the birthday we're doing more low-key. It will be a Curious George theme but nothing crazy. I'm just serving pizza, apps and cake. If you can't have it at home, check out the hall on Lake Ave in St. James, I think it's an American Legion or VFW.

Re: First Birthday Ideas
I had DS first bday at a place. His 2nd, I did like the above poster though. I actually ordered pizza to be delivered from Pizza Hut and believe it or not, that was a huge hit with the adults because no one had had it in years.....we all do the local pizzeria.

Thanks for the idea. I would love to have it at home, but my house isn't set up to hold a ton of people and its in the winter so we were thinking of having it out. I will def look into that. Thanks again!!

Re: First Birthday Ideas
We had DD's first birthday at our local towns recreation center. They supplied the tables and chairs and they also had a kitchen. We had it catered (hero and salads, and Italian food), we were able to serve beer and wine. I also hired a clown that kept the little ones entertained with balloon animals, face painting, dancing and a magic show.

Re: First Birthday Ideas
We had Julian's first birthday at my parent's house - his was this past September so we had it outside but I would have had it inside if he was a winter baby.
We made it special by doing a nice theme - Sophie la Giraffe, since that is Julian's favorite toy since birth! The decorations and cake - everything was Sophie thanks to a little help from Etsy, Laura the Cookie Lady, and Andrea from AndreaLP Designs.
If you are looking for a place I know the Little Gym in Smithtown does parties, I know that Gymboree has fun parties. Their location in Saint James closed but they have one in East Northport. There are Bounce U type places - like the one in Nesconset but, to me, if the birthday boy is too young for it, I wouldn't want it even if other kids in attendance are old enough.
I saw that Safe-T-Swim in Nesconset does parties and I thought that was a great idea - especially for winter as what kid wouldn't want some fun in the pool in the winter? I know they have trained staff that works with the kids in the pool.
I read recently that White Post Farms advertises parties "all year long" - hey, give them a call and see what that entails. That place is great.
Also, Once Upon a Treetop seems like a great place.
One year is tough - They are so young but I found I could still do something really nice and memorable by playing up a theme with decorations.

We had DS's first bday part at a Chinese restaurant around here - it was affordable and there was tons of food and everyone left happy.
