December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
DS#2 i Due 12/11; I don't know what to do about holiday cards??? Do I just order then in November early December (if he's not here) and say Baby XX coming 2014; Don't say anything at all?
Ideally we'd get pictures taken late October early November then have the cards ready to send out in December. I can't imagine if he comes on time trying to run and get pictures taken and do a rush order just to include him? I may not be up to taking pictures!
what is everyone else doing? Or have you done in similar situations in the past?

December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
I'm due with LO #1 on Dec 6th, I plan on waiting for his arrival and likely using one of his newborn photos for the Holiday card. I'll probably order through shutterfly, they got our wedding thank you cards to us in a matter of 2-3 days if I remember correctly. If they get to people after Christmas, so be it.

December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
My friend was due last year with her second on 12/26. Her LO came 2 weeks early, after she ordered her card. She dressed up her new LO and took a pic and included it with the Christmas card with a note that said welcome _______.

Re: December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
there is a great groupon for JCP $24.99 for 42 cards plus sitting fee and 40% off any additional purchases. I just think it take like 2 weeks from when the photos are taken for the prints to be ready...not sure about the cards.
I guess we can always just play it by ear and if he comes early then great; we'll get the pictures taken and have the combo holiday/birth announcement out before Christmas. Otherwise we'll just have to send them out after.

Re: December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
I'm wondering the same thing. I'm due Dec. 26th and even if this baby comes early I don't want to be rushing with cards.
I'm thinking of either doing a card with DD and a sono pic making it from all of us and baby-to-be or waiting until the new year and doing a Happy New Year and here's our new addition type of thing.
I don't know. Can't decide what to do.
I do like adding the photo last minute if need be. That's cute.

December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
I'm due earlier in the month, and just plan to wait.
However we take our own pics and typically order around December 15th anyway!

Re: December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
I'm due the first week of Dec. I always just use an informal pic, so hopefully I can get a cute one of them together and get it out in time. But, you could always do a "blessings in the New Year" type card and send them out a little late. I'm more concerned with getting my Christmas shopping done early (I'm one of those last minute Christmas Eve shoppers) lol.

I made my family do the "secret santa" division 2 weeks ago because I wanted to have it all done long before baby boy's arrival. I am not bringing him in a mall at a few days old.

December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
Due Dec 1st, but expecting to go late. Already bought matching holidy pajamas. Having my sister set up the card just missing the pic. First day ds2 comes home, I'll put them both in the pajamas, take a pic, insert that into the holiday card template online, order from costco for next day pick up ($20 for 50 cards and $5 or so for every 25 after). I already have extra envelopes since I order all my cards from costco, so I will have everything addressed and stamped already. Will pick them up the next day and send them out! It'll be a little close, but I want to include both boys in the card!

December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
I had DD 12/8/12 and what I did was buy cards that had a slot to add a photo, had already written, addressed and stamped them and all we did once we had DD home was take our own family picture, have them printed at walgreens, slapped them in the cards and put them in the mail. I also ordered birth announcements from shutterfly and had them in 2-3 days and was able to insert those into the cards too.

December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
I'm not due until the 18th and figure I'll probably go late again. I planned to just send out cards early (first week of december or so) this way I don't have to worry about them. I'll just do a pic of DD and I may add "soon to be big sister" in front of DD's name but I'm not sure. I figure I'll be sending a birth announcement once the baby arrives anyway so I'm not going to stress about it.

I know, I just want to have it all done well in advance - we normally don't divide it up until thanksgiving and considering that's the week before my due date.... I love amazon prime!

Yup! So she had the original card and a photo they took and developed at CVS. It was really cute, and she felt weird sending cards with her first son's name on it after the second was already born...

How about waiting till the baby arrives and sending out a Happy New Year card. We received a bunch last year and thought it was great!

Re: December Mom's with Kids already home-Holiday card Question...
I only have my one child,, who is a December baby, as am I. So I can't say what I'd do for this particular situation, but I do have to say, being a December baby myself, it's not fair to combine Christmas and birth announcements together as some previous posters mentioned. Your child will forever be sharing Christmas and birthday in ways that are out of their control (christmas decorations at every birthday party venue, bday gifts wrapped in Xmas paper, a bday gift unceremoniously slipped in when a relative drops by for the real intention of celebrating the holidays, celebrating bday party in a more convenient weekend around the holiday rush instead of the one closest to the birthday etc,) so for me, if there's an opportunity to deliberately NOT combine the two, I'd jump at that. Christmas cards should be about Christmas, and birth announcements should be just about that. Lol, I'm sure I'm coming across as bitter, but this is the emotional reality...

This is what I did when I had DS 1 - he was due on 12/17 but, came on 12/21. I didn't do "Christmas" cards...

I just read this after I replied.
Even though I did a birth announcement/holiday card combo - I do make sure that DS' b-day is celebrated separately from Christmas. I did it because it was easier - so much going on at once - just to send one card.
We make sure there is separation of b-day and Christmas. And although we celebrate with family in January as well - DS loves it because to him he views it as more presents for him.

I'm a mid-December baby as well and quite honestly would not know (or care) if my parents combined a holiday card and birth announcement. I was a week old!! I personally don't see anything wrong with it if that's what works for your family.
