been on a break- Dt. T appt next month- 11/17 Question for those that went to Dr. T
Dr. T of SIRM seems to be the go to doctor for those who have not had success with other fertility drs.
If you have had unsuccessful IVF cycles with other drs and went to Dr. T and got a BFP, what did he do differently? more tests?, meds change? ? I know everyone is different but I figure I have a month to kill before my consult, I might as well research.
Any info would help. :)

been on a break- Dt. T appt next month- 11/17 Question for those that went to Dr. T
Well, I haven't gotten a BFP with Dr. T since i'm doing my first IVF next month, but he did discover a reason for all my miscarriages - high NK cells and total DQ-alpha match. We'll see if the immune protocol works for me, but it's so nice to have an answer/reason when everyone else said it was just bad luck and to keep trying the same thing. I felt like I was banging my head against the wall.

You always have the best questions. I was reading through a post the other day that you started regarding how many ivf cycles before success. It made me feel better to know a lot of people needed a few to have success. Sorry to hijack your post but I appreciate your questions

Amy - would Dr.T put you on Neupogen to address the HLA matching?

I don't have my protocol all laid out yet as I'm taking this month off and starting first IVF next month, but he only mentioned prednisone and intralipids from what I remember.

been on a break- Dt. T appt next month- 11/17 Question for those that went to Dr. T
Well it was IVF 3 and transfer 4. I got a BFP with my first IVF with Dr. T. So happy I switched!
What did I do different to FINALLY get my BFP?
I did a Lupron start instead of BCP or straight inject start.
Immune testing showed a partial DQ Alpha Match. So I took Prednisone and did intralipids every 3 weeks.
I also used HGH when I was stimming.
I used PIO. I had used it for my FET but not the other 2 IVFs. I also used a refrigerated type suppository. I had never been on PIO and a vaginal suppository at the same time.
I think all of those things were what I needed to finally be successful. My Gonal F and Menopur amounts were about the same. I did have more embryos then ever before and most made it to day 3 but in the end I still only had 2 to transfer and 1 to freeze. The other ones on day 5 weren't good enough to freeze. 1 stuck!
Let me know if you have any questions!

Re: been on a break- Dt. T appt next month- 11/17 Question for those that went to Dr. T
For me, I believe the time off helped my body heal but still, Dr.T had me on much fewer drugs and his protocol was way more manageable than my previous ones. I didn't get so terribly bloated (I was barely bloated at all even, which was the opposite in every one of my other cycles including IUIs).
Good luck!!!

Your not hijacking at all. I'm a teacher so I teacher so everyday I teach my students to notice, wonder and ask questions. I am taking my own advice.
Ive heard so many stories of having multiple failed IVFs and then going to Dr. T and getting success. I am hoping he has a better answer to my issue. I had partial immune done not all but my SO was not tested for immune issues- and my panel came back with something but dr wasn't worried. maybe Dr T would think differently. this is my last shot. Plus these two months off has given me time to detox and heal.
