Empire/NYSHIP - flu shot?
My OB doesn't have the flu shot this year so I'm trying to figure out where I can get it that will be covered. Does anyone know if I can do CVS? If not another walk in type place or pharmacy?

I had to pay in CVS last year 
Try your GP and see if they carry the mercury-free.

I went to rite aid. They had the preservative free one and it was completely covered for me.

Last year I did it at Walgreens and had to pay. I was surprised I didn't at rite aid.

I have this insurance and did not have to pay anything at CVS 2 weeks ago. They only had the mercury free shot.

So weird that some had to pay and others not. I have to pick up a rx there so I'm going to ask. If not I'll have to get to Rite Aid. I think they did mine a few years ago. I don't want to go anywhere near my GP's office with all the germs and their waits are ridiculous.

Maybe it's because of different variations of the plan? My dh is NCPD, it's his insurance.

I have Empire NYSHIP and went to CVS about 3 weeks ago for the preservative free flu shot -- they said my insurance didn't cover it but they had a 50% off coupon, so I ended up paying around $15. My husband (who is on my plan) went about 2 weeks ago and they said that Empire NYSHIP was now covering it and he paid $0. Call CVS -- it should be covered.

It ended up being covered. The pharmacy tech said earlier in the season Empire wasn't covering it there but not they are. Got the preservative free and no copay.

I have the same. Maybe the saw it wasn't covered earlier in the season and never went back and checked to see it changed? Did they put in your info and see what the computer said? The tech said he thought it was covered but wasn't sure until he checked the computer bc empire flip flops about it at times.
