Talk to me about busing
So we are going through the Eval process for my twins for CPSE. Assuming they qualify for a special school, is busing included? I know we will discuss this at the district meeting but I am curious. Otherwise I really have no idea how I'd be able to get them there and pick them up. DH and I work FT and my in laws watch them but my MIL does not drive and I would never want my FIL driving them.
I'm not thrilled at the idea of a bus. They are so little. But I don't see what alternative I have. Anyone know if busing is included as part of services?

It was included for my son with EI and CPSE.
He was 2 when he started at school. They are great with the little ones.

Re: Talk to me about busing
Yup, all included, I was told it would take about 2 weeks to set up. I ended up driving my DS to school, the county actually has to reimburse you if you drive your kid to school (its not much though). ETA this is for EI though not sure if its different for CPSE

Yes busing will be handled by EI or CPSE depending on the age.

Re: Talk to me about busing
DS goes to a therapeutic preschool and we were given the option of busing at the CPSE meeting. We just signed a form, gave the pickup/drop off address and the reason why busing was needed. i.e. both parents work F/T, other children in the house, etc. DS was 3 when he first took the bus and I was petrified. I cried (he was fine) the first time he was picked up, but it was a quick adjustment. He ended up really enjoying it!

DS went to a special needs school since preschool. He has taken the bus with a matron on the bus. And the harness seat belt. It was all covered. You have the choice to drive and you can be reimbursed for gas but you cannot combine both. Either they take the bus and it's covered or you drive and no bus and you fill out paperwork for gas reimbursement.
